The IBA as a voice for its Member Organisations
With over 200 Bar Associations and Law Societies having joined the IBA as 'Member Organisations', the IBA is truly the global voice of the legal profession. The Association is governed by its Council; this comprises two Councillors from every Member Organisation. Furthermore, the recently established Bar Issues Commission supports the activities and interests of the IBA’s Member Organisations by providing a forum for Member Organisations to discuss issues of common interest and, through its Policy Committee, advises the IBA Council on issues of relevance to Member Organisations.
