The European Forum of the International Bar Association, together with a number of the committees of the Corporate, Finance, Insolvency, Real Estate and Tax Sections, are organising a conference on "Cross-Border Real Estate Investment in Europe ".  The conference will take place in Copenhagen on 17-19 September 2008.


This conference is expected to attract delegates from practically all European jurisdictions and from most, if not all of the main international and national law firms servicing the industry. The conference programme will focus on:

 

• Exit strategies
• Which EU jurisdiction gives the most tax efficient exit from the EU?
• What do the clients want from their lawyers?
• The challenging of investing in hotels 
• Tax efficient structuring of real estate investments in Europe
• Legal and technical issues for a Pan-European portfolio
• There will also be regional workshops including: Central Europe and the Baltics; and ; Scandinavia and ; and Investing in real estate in South-Eastern Europe: opportunities and threats.
