WeatherWarmed by Pacific Ocean currents and protected by a range of mountains, Vancouver enjoys mild temperatures year-round. Food and DrinkVancouver’s location puts it in prime position to reap the fruits of the sea, and seafood is very much a part of the city’s food culture. Izakayas, or Japanese-style tapas, have taken Vancouver by storm in recent years for their hip atmosphere and unique dishes. These pub-type bars serve up pan-fried gyozas (dumplings) and bunsonburner- seared mackerel. ‘Micro’ or ‘local’ breweries are also a feature of Vancouver’s diverse culinary palette, providing visitors with a great chance to sample the truly local beers, many of which cannot be found outside of Vancouver. |
